CAMPER SPOTLIGHT: SOLITARE SNEAK PEEK

Solitaire Sneak Peek

Could the all-new Solitaire from Offline Campers tick all the boxes? We’re about to find out as Offline Campers give us the low-down on their latest offering to the camper trailer market.

In the realm of outdoor enthusiasts, the hunt for the perfect camper trailer is akin to a holy grail pursuit. It’s a quest for the ultimate blend of durability, comfort, and innovation in a camper trailer, aiming to create a vehicle that can traverse Australia’s multitude of rugged terrains while providing a cozy sanctuary to retreat into at night.

Despite the team at Offline Campers already nailing some truly well-designed trailers in the past, they continue to innovate. Their latest offering promises to up the ante even further, so let’s take a sneak peek at what all the fuss is about.

Sleek Off-Road Design

The Solitaire will be available in both a 14′ and 16’ platform, bringing together all your needs—kitchen, lounge, bedroom, and ensuite—without sacrificing the lightweight off-road pedigree of its predecessors.

The upgraded ATX airbag suspension fitted as standard should serve as proof that the Solitaire really is ready to tango with the best of the off-road dwellers, especially when paired with “vehicle matched wheels,” 12-inch electric brakes, a hot dip galvanized chassis, and rear recovery points. There are even high lift jack points and lower stone protection as standard.

More importantly, with good ground clearance and steep departure angles, and a dry weight of 1500kg, you’ll find the whole package is nimble enough to tackle anything you can throw at it.

Internal Comforts

For a small overall footprint, the layout is designed to promote a luxurious feel. The innovative integrated ensuite extension connects to the internal living space, meaning its modest overall tow length isn’t sacrificed. While keeping things compact and “off-roadable” was obviously a priority, you’ll still find a well-appointed internal dining area, kitchen, and bathroom just a few steps from your bed. Add in luxuries such as a Truma air conditioner, diesel heating, Sirocco fans, and an innerspring queen mattress, and you’ve got the makings of a very comfortable home away from home. More importantly, there will be multiple internal layouts to choose from, so you are guaranteed to hit the nail on the head in that department.

Outside Features

While the Solitaire undoubtedly boasts a cozy interior, it definitely delivers on the outdoor living front, too. A stainless-steel flip-out kitchen with plumbed gas, plumbed hot water, a 95L fridge/freezer, and ample pantry space ensures the whole family is catered for. What’s great about this cooking setup is that they haven’t started from scratch. Instead, they took the already proven design from previous models and increased its capacities to accommodate larger gatherings. They haven’t lost sight of the fact that camping is all about really taking in the atmosphere, and it shows.

Covering the kitchen area is a 180-degree fast awning with walls and ground sheet, and integrated lighting.

A Game Changer Off-Grid

Make no mistake, this is a camper trailer that’s destined to get you as far off the beaten track as possible and stay there. To ensure power isn’t an issue, a massive 800W of solar can be installed, along with an impressive 600AH of lithium battery power. That’s enough to power pretty much anything you please on your expeditions. In fact, having this kind of power on-board opens the possibility of an easy electric setup, making this not only super comfortable to live out of but super simple to do so. Add in up to 340L of water capacity, and you can practically stay on the road (or off it) for as long as you want.

Final Thoughts

This is one camper trailer that we are most definitely looking forward to testing in the future. It’s a real testament to Offline Campers’ innovative nature and destined to shake things up in terms of what a traditional hybrid camper looks like. Stay tuned…
