CAMPER TRAILER: Lumberjack Glenaire

With Camper Trailer Lifestyle

There is nothing worse than getting all excited to go camping with the family, only to spend hours physically battling the camper trailer to set it up. While this is still just the way it is for plenty of other camper trailers, the Glenaire from LumberJack campers is a breath of fresh air. This double fold camper trailer is fully motorized, which means opening and closing the tent is literally as simple as pressing a button. Add in oodles of comfort and the mod-cons we’ve all come to know and love, and you’ve got one heck of a camper trailer. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at what makes the Glenaire really tick.

AUTOMATED SET-UP

This little beauty uses silent actuators to flip the front and rear beds into place, literally at the touch of the button. Oh, and that button is positioned on a remote control too! And don’t worry about noise, the whole automated set-up is pretty much silent, so you won’t wake the neighbors up in caravan parks or packed out campgrounds. All that’s left to do, is adjust the tent poles into position and boom; you’re done. Oh, and there’s no need to drop the rear spare tyres down before setting up like most other forward folds either, which saves time and effort.

A LAYOUT FOR THE OUTDOORS

The first thing you’ll notice is the Glenaire is a forward fold design, which a popular choice for most families these days. Everything is kept up and off the ground, and you also get comfy King-sized bed plus and another Queen-size bed as well. There aren’t too many camper trailers out there that can boast about that, eh? Plus, right in the middle you’ll find a full leather lounge and dining area too. In fact, that same lounge that provides a mighty comfortable spot to have dinner even folds into another bed. So, you really can accommodate the whole family.

On the outside you’ve got a slide out stainless steel kitchen with 4 burners, a good size sink and a slide out bench. Just a few steps away up the front you’ve got the fridge slide so everything is close by and easily accessible. It sounds a little cliché, but you really will feel right at home in the great outdoors.

CREATURE COMFORTS

How comfortable is it? Well, picture this. It’s pouring down rain outside for the whole day. But it’s not a problem. The kids are quite happy to watch a movie on the 17inch flat screen TV. You won’t have to worry about how much power you’ve got left either thanks to the triple battery set-up and full digital display panel inside. But it’s the little things that make a massive different in the Glenaire, like the LED lighting found throughout the set-up or the full audio system. 12V outlets are found in convenient locations, and twin electric 12V water pumps plus dual 100L water tanks make sure there’s always water at hand.

ADVENTURE TOUGH

For those awesome family adventures, the Glenaire is ready to rumble. The 100x50x3mm hot dip galvanized drawbar is welded and bolted to the main frame, which sits on 16in alloy wheels wrapped in mud terrain tyres for extra durability. Independent trailing arm suspension with twin shock absorbers provide a cushioned ride, while up front there’s a 3 Tonne off-road poly-block coupling, which allows the trailer to move independently to the 4WD on the tracks. The gas bottles and jerry cans are protected from the mesh stone guard up the front, and there’s two spare tyres mounted to the back as standard.
